Drying in the solar tunnel drier required 3 days to dry silver jew fish from 71.56% to 14.75% as compared to 71.56% to 23.63% in 3 days in traditional sun drying. There was no difference of drying rate at different positions of solar tunnel dryer. Fig. 19. Pictorial view of the solar tunnel dryer
The prototype solar tunnel dryer consists of a flat plate air heating solar collector and drying tunnel, fabricated as a single unit (Figure 1). The tunnel is 1.7 m wide, with a A tunnel like framed structural covered with UV-stabilized polythene sheet walk-in type solar tunnel dryer was designed, developed, and commissioned at Udaipur (27â42 N, 75â33 E), A solar tunnel dryer of 200 kg capacity was utilized for drying of fodder crop. The dryer is having size 14.24 à 3.34 à 2 m (L à W à H) with G.I. pipe frame structure was covered with UV stabilized 200 Ξm transparent sheet. The solar tunnel dryer consisted of solar collector section and drying section. In drying section 8 trays with mesh bottom in which 4 trays having step like structure
